Heya people!
So this blog, is my diary, and as the title explains I am a young musician. I play music, I listen to music, and I live music. You may, (or may not I don't know how much of this blog people actually read!) have seen that my fav band ever is McFly. Also if you know me you will know that I love giving to charity, and I can't walk past someone collecting without putting all my change in their pot. Sooo where is this going? Well a couple of months ago, Harry announced on his twitter that he would be hosting a charity cricket game at Uppingham School. Perfect! Charity, Harry Judd, and all under an hour away from me!
Meeting Harry, was of course, partly what made my day, but the important thing was giving money to two very worthy causes. The two charities involved were Eyes Alight and The Teenage Cancer Trust. So while you're here, here is a bit of information about the charities for you:)
Eyes Alight: Eyes Alight is a charity set up by Izzy Judd, after her brother Rupert was involved in a car accident. It raises money for people who have suffered brain injury, and now use the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Services. The money raised is used to buy technology to be used, such as ipads, Xbox Kinect and laptops, to allow people the chance to go on special trips out, to help people continue their hobbies and do what they really want to do and to improve the facilities. Izzy also has her own website www.izzysatic.co.uk (which has some adorable items for sale, I picked up the cutest little bookmark on Sunday) and from her shop each month something is picked to be sold where 50% goes to Eyes Alight (so check it out, WARNING lots of money may be spent!)
I was lucky enough to meet Rupert at the cricket game, and it made my day. He is so full of smiles, and happy, and positive energy was flooooding from him! (he is also very cheeky! Got myself a little kiss on the cheek;) ) Meeting Rupert when I gave my donation of £50! (a very early morning and a loong car boot sale) to Eyes Alight made the whole experience so special, and made me remember how worth it this charity is:)

Katie, The fabulous Rupert and Me:)
A very beautiful Izzy Judd and a very sunburnt Me!
The Teenage Cancer Trust: "Our vision is a future where young people’s lives don’t stop because they have cancer. We make sure they’re treated as young people first, cancer patients second and everything we do aims to improve their quality of life and chances of survival." The Teenage Cancer Trust works to support young people with cancer, helping them meet others experiencing what they are experiencing, so they are not alone. Their aim is to improve the quality of life for those suffering, and to get them treated and in the clear. They provide specialists, and do a lot of research towards beating cancer. So once again, a VERY valuable charity that needs our support:)
On a personal fangirling note, I did indeed get to meet someone very special, McFly have been part of my life for 10 years, their songs have been with me through everything, their concerts were the first I ever went to, so when I met Harry Judd, it was possibly one of the best moments of my life so far, he's great, he's so funny, and great, and funny, and just, everything you could want from one of your idols (cheesey!) So here are the pics:)
And of course a pic of the team! What a great day :)
I hope you read this blog post to the end,
it's a bit different because it's not about music
however I'm sure you'll agree it's a very important post.
Remember how lucky you are
xxx
